Lights out and… Alonso is the talk of the town

📰 Quick recap

Max Verstappen kicked off his world drivers’ championship title defense with a bang, winning the 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix in dominant style. The Dutchman led from pole to flag, leaving no doubt as to who the man to beat was. Checo completed the one-two finish for Red Bull, proving they are still a force to be reckoned with in the constructors’ championship.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso proved that age is just a number, rolling back the years to finish in P3 and secure his 99th podium finish in F1. He beat fellow Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who had to settle for fourth place.

Unfortunately for Ferrari, the Bahrain Grand Prix was another disaster. Charles Leclerc, who was occupying P3 at the time, was forced to retire due to a massive car failure. This was a huge blow for the Monegasque driver and his team.
